Given the heightened alert level for the COVID-19 outbreak, PLDT and Smart wish to advise its customers and the public that they are implementing stronger mitigation measures to ensure the health and safety of their personnel and to continue providing vital communications services to its customers and the public.
These measures include travel bans to affected countries, as well as limitations on domestic air travel.
At PLDT and Smart offices and business centers, we have activated strict sanitation measures and are implementing monitoring procedures such as conducting temperature checks on all personnel entering the workplace. Moreover, we have for the meantime stopped accepting visitors to our offices and facilities.
In the conduct of business, we are limiting face-to-face meetings in favor of virtual meetings and other digital or online office solutions. Moreover, we have already put in place work-from-home procedures for our employees as an additional mitigation measure.
Our stores are also covered by strict sanitation and health protocols. Aligned with this, we are encouraging customers to use online payments and other digital customer service tools for their safety and convenience. Our hotlines and online customer care channels are also available to serve their needs.
We continue to monitor developments and will take additional actions as required by the unfolding situation. Rest assured that we are undertaking all measures needed to ensure that vital communications services are available to the public, especially during these difficult times.
