The Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation has released an initial list of companies and foundations that are responding to the series of earthquakes in Mindanao.
The Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), one of the leading business networks in disaster management, opened the world’s first national emergency operations center (EOC) run by the private sector. The EOC acts as a self-sufficient operations hub geared towards training for disaster preparedness and the coordination of relief and response efforts during major disasters.

With the onslaught of Typhoon Lawin, PLDT and Smart intensified restoration works and relief operations in areas where vital connectivity services were suspended, including Benguet, Cagayan, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Isabela provinces.
MANILA, Philippines, March 10, 2016 – Leading telecoms and digital services provider PLDT has turned over 30 butterfly houses, known as the “Village of Joy”, in Tacloban, Leyte for the benefit of the families who were victims of Superyphoon Yolanda, in support of the transitional housing program of the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), in partnership with USAID.
