In line with Safer Internet Day, the youth of General Santos City championed different awareness advocacy campaigns, particularly on mental health and Internet safety.
PLDT and Smart, through their Better Today program, has collaborated with the Sangguniang Kabataan of General Santos (GenSan) City, holding the second run of the “Create, Communicate, Connect” workshop on content creation and digital empowerment.
PLDT, Smart, and the Makati Medical Center Foundation are working together to build more mentally resilient communities, and creating a safe space to support the country’s Health Heroes in the frontline service through the Better Today Conversations on Mental Health Awareness.
A record number of LGUs and organizations have partnered with PLDT and Smart to champion mental health across the country. Among them are General Santos (GenSan), Tarlac, La Union, Lingayen, and Baguio. Organizations such as the Youth for Mental Health Coalition and #MentalHealthPH also collaborated with PLDT and Smart to create safe spaces online for the youth.
Since launching the Better Today Conversations program in October 2020, PLDT and Smart have garnered over 1 million views for its online series on mental health awareness, including the Time Capsule Project and Power Move Project.
Together with the Province of La Union and PLDT-Smart Foundation’s Gabay Guro program, PLDT and Smart reinforce their commitment in promoting mental health by linking up the “Kamusta Ka, eLyU?” conversations series and Gabay Guro’s Learning Never Stops program.
PLDT and Smart, in partnership with TikTok, launched the #BetterTodayAffirmations Challenge to invite the public to share their stories that champion mental health and resilience. To date, the TikTok Challenge has garnered over 14 million views.
