Armando “Dodjie” Lim is one of PLDT’s 35-year-service awardees. 

Armando Dodjie Lim, better known to his family, friends, and colleagues as “Dodjie”, joined PLDT in 1987. His eagerness to explore and discover new things enabled him to learn various skills that eventually made him an executive in the company.

“I remember in my job interview, saying, ‘I’ll do everything I can in any assignment that you’d give me. I really want to have this job.’”, Dodjie said.

Eventually, his first job in PLDT was to conduct driving tests and lectures to job applicants and employees who want to be authorized to drive. This provided him with the perspective of how many would be qualified to pass the tests and how some would fail them. This strengthened his belief about loyalty to the company. “I saw good value in getting into PLDT and staying in it. I went on to go up the ranks, and I always give my best in everything that I do,” Dodjie said.

In 1992, he transferred to Greater Metro Manila (GMM) Operations in Kalookan and Grace Park Exchanges. He later moved on to regional operations, where he served as a Staff Assistant. It was in this role that Dodjie built the foundation of his utmost dedication to PLDT. “I remembered my former boss told me, ‘You have to learn a lot and be prepared.’ True enough – learning and growing are intertwined,” Dodjie shared.

Zone operations became a big part of Dodjie’s PLDT journey. He joined the teams in the field, talked and interacted with them, gained their trust and confidence that they can work well together. Dodjie had many roles in Zone operations, to which he served from as Zone Manager and Senior Manager in Regional Zones of Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Batangas, Pampanga since 2002. In 2013, he moved to GMM Zones of South & North QC.

2018 became a pivotal year for Dodjie as he was promoted to AVP and Center Head for GMM North. Amid the pandemic, 2020 was a milestone year for Dodjie as he was promoted to Vice President.

Dodjie’s story is a reminder of how loyalty and dedication can become foundations of your career. It’s one of those hopeful stories of ‘from the ranks and up’. It strives to inspire the next generation of PLDT employees that with hard work, they can thrive and reach for their dreams.
