As an SMBiz Channel Partner of PLDT Enterprise, the B2B arm of PLDT, Benjie Bordonada Jr. embraced the transformative opportunity when PLDT acquired the Southern Iloilo Telephone Companies owned by his wife’s family. Rather than viewing this as a challenge, Benjie welcomed this change by taking on sales and marketing for upgraded PLDT Enterprise services, recognizing the potential to offer PLDT Enterprise's state-of-the-art fiber network to the entire Iloilo.

Understanding the importance of this endeavor, Benjie acknowledged that this was not just for business growth but for the betterment of his community. For him, it was about more than mere expansion; it was a chance to uplift the lives of those around him. The market is evolving, and so must the connectivity requirement that goes with it.

Starting with home distributors, Benjie’s business steadily grew, eventually becoming an enterprise distributor himself, making his company a one-stop shop for home and business connectivity requirements. Through it all, his unwavering commitment to his people remained the driving force behind the success. As a result, Benjie’s remarkable contributions in supporting small and medium enterprises on their digital transformation journey were recognized and honored at the recent PLDT Enterprise Channel Partners Kick Off.

“We opted to continue with this line of business because we wanted to keep our people employed and ensure they wouldn’t lose opportunities,” Benjie explained. It was this dedication to his employees that fueled his determination to find the right formula—a business model driven by people, not just revenue.

Benjie’s approach was simple yet impactful. “We are people-focused, not revenue-focused.” He instilled this mindset in his team, emphasizing the importance of closing deals while ensuring the best customer experience, even after the sale was made. “I tell my staff, when there’s an opportunity to sell, make sure you can close the deal and the customer is well taken care of, including their technical issues.”

What set Benjie apart was the open lines of communication he maintained with his customers. This level of dedication and support fostered lasting relationships and reputation for excellence.

But for Benjie, his success is more than just business. “I always say on every occasion that we are just a medium of God to be a blessing for others. Our work is a way to uplift our community, one connection at a time,” he said.
