For 30-year-old Nate Dacua, connectivity has helped him keep working in the New Normal. Dacua, who recently had his PLDT Home Plan 1699 quickly installed at his new apartment in Taguig last April after moving there, works as a Media Relations Manager and is in constant virtual meetings with his team and their clients. “Aside from work, I also connect my TV to stream movies in Netflix and my phone when I play Mobile Legends during my free time,” he added.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, strong connectivity at home has become more critical for professionals and students to keep themselves safe and help curb the spread of the virus.
“To support the increasing connectivity requirements of the market, we are investing more on network bandwidth capacity to serve our fellow Filipinos. We have fast-tracked our rollout of additional Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) ports, as we continue to provide the most extensive fiber infrastructure in the country,” said PLDT Inc. and Smart Communications President and CEO Alfredo S. Panlilio.
PLDT Home, the fastest growing and preferred fiber network in the Philippines, recorded close to half a million new fiber customers in the first half of 2021. PLDT Home remains on track to close the year with 1 million new fiber customers, solidifying its position as the leading and most reliable telco provider for robust home connectivity.
“We ramped up our fiber installation and repair capabilities despite the restrictions brought about by the pandemic, allowing us to outpace our nearest competitor’s fiber deployment, and deliver exceptional customer experience to all Filipinos,” Panlilio added.
One of these new customers is 30-year-old Nate Dacua, who recently had his PLDT Home Plan 1699 installed at his new apartment.
“I’m quite happy with the service and the connectivity I’m getting from my PLDT plan. It made it easier for me to continue doing my work at home, and transition to this remote working set up which I think a lot of us are experiencing now,” said Dacua, who relocated to a new place in Taguig last April and needed to have fiber connectivity quickly installed there. As a Media Relations Manager, Dacua is in constant virtual meetings with his team and their clients.
“Aside from work, I also connect my TV to stream movies in Netflix and my phone when I play Mobile Legends during my free time,” he added.
PLDT Home has provided Filipinos the support to cope and thrive with the challenges of the pandemic. It has relentlessly enabled more homes and businesses to continue surviving through its delivery of fiber connectivity to residences enabling work-from-home and study-from-home set ups.
PLDT’s relentless push to provide connectivity for all is aligned with the group’s long-standing commitment to help the Philippines attain the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG #9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
