PLDT Inc. (PLDT) and Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), through value brand TNT, livened up the tenth year of Cebu Province’s Pasigarbo sa Sugbo (Pride of Cebu) last August 27, 2023 at Carcar City Sports Complex.

Known as the “Festival of Festivals”, Pasigarbo sa Sugbo brings together every year contingents from different cities and municipalities in Cebu Province in an extraordinary celebration of rich heritage through electrifying cultural dance performances.

This year, PLDT provided reliable fiber connectivity which powered the seamless livestreaming of street dances and cultural presentations of the 53 contingents, allowing everyone to join the celebration wherever they are in the world. Smart also deployed Multi-Element On Wheels (MEOW) equipment to boost wireless services at the event venue, enabling revelers to post and share their experiences as they happened.

Selling booths were also put up by PLDT and Smart to offer load and data packages, as well as other connectivity devices, to ensure that festival goers could stay in touch with their loved ones and capture moments to share online.

In addition to the judges’ scores, festival goers and home viewers were able to actively support their favorite contingents by casting their votes online, contributing to 15% of the total score for each delegate.

Thanks to PLDT and Smart’s provision of fast connectivity and selling booths, I am able to share my festival experience online and support my favorite contingent through online voting,” shared Agnes Aguilar, Overseas Filipino Worker.
