Smart activates its 'Libreng Tawag at Charging' station in Barangay San Miguel, Boac, Marinduque

Smart has extended communication aid in Marinduque and Masbate after the provinces were hammered by Tropical Storm Jolina’s strong winds and torrential rains.

To assist affected residents, Smart has activated its Libreng Tawag (free calls) at Libreng Charging (free charging) stations in Barangay San Miguel, Boac, Marinduque. In previous instances, Smart’s ‘pop-up’ communication booths system has become a lifeline, enabling communities to connect with relatives after calamities.

Smart has further expanded its communication support to areas that suffered the wrath of #JolinaPH by extending free call, text and data packages to affected customers in the towns of Boac, Santa Cruz and Torrijos in Marinduque, which bore the brunt of the storm.

Smart has likewise provided free call, text and data credits to subscribers in the badly hit towns of Baleno, Cataingan, Cawayan, Dimasalang, Esperanza, Palanas, Pio V. Corpus, Placer, and Uson in Masbate. Tropical Storm Jolina made landfall in Dimasalang town on Tuesday morning, forcing almost 1,500 families to evacuate.
