Not even a pandemic could stop the good, valuable, superior or beautiful, showcased annually in what is known as the Kadayawan Festival in Davao City. Thanks to digital technology enabled by PLDT-Smart, the first-ever digital festival was held in the home city of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.
“We support various communities in promoting our country’s culture by showcasing the unique and creative talents of the Filipino people. Amid this difficult time, we want to spread the message of hope and keep the spirits alive by celebrating the Kadayawan Festival – the digital way,” said PLDT Community Relations Head Katherine P. Diaz De Rivera.

PLDT recently awarded a total of P30,000 in cash for the winners of the three main digital contests.
Group D.U.R.I.A.N (Durian United Responders Immediate Action Network) won the TikTok Indak-indak Kadayawan contest, which encouraged participants to create their own TikTok version of the official Kadayawan jingle.
Evelyn Uy received an award for the Most Memorable Kadayawan Experience, which enabled participants to share old photos and videos online about their best Kadayawan memories.
PLDT also recognized Icee Vasquez as the winner of the Kadayawan Video Making Contest, which let participants make a music video using the past Tunog Kadayawan entries.

PLDT also offered exclusive Kadayawan Broadband Sale through the PLDT Home Fibr product. Festival-goers and customers have availed of the product and saved as much as P3,600 with free installation and activation. PLDT Home distributors ramped up both online and on-ground merchandising with festival social cards and banners provided by PLDT Trade Marketing.
PLDT also reached out to underprivileged families affected by the pandemic. Being a long-time partner of the community, PLDT donated assorted relief goods to families in Barangay 4-A, Poblacion District in Davao City where the PLDT Davao Office is located.
