Employee-volunteers in Bicol, General Santos and Davao del Sur shared their time and effort in making Christmas more meaningful to families and survivors affected by calamities.

In Bicol, PLDT distributed 60 packs of relief goods, 60 blankets as well as apples, biscuits and candies for the kids in Purok 4, Barangay Bariis, Tiwi, Albay. Led by PLDT Bicol Consumer Experience Zone Head Boyet Dizon, employee-volunteers helped distribute the relief packs to families affected by Typhoon Tisoy. The barangay council of Bariis led by its Barangay Captain and two Barangay Kagawads assisted PLDT in the relief operations.
Meanwhile, 40 packs, 90 blankets, 140 apples and 40 assorted biscuits and candies were distributed to various barangays in Bacacay, Albay. These areas are within the mountains of Bacacay, which stretches 15-kilometers. The PLDT Bicol Consumer Experience Zone team and its employee-volunteers helped in packing the relief goods. They also donated the 100 packs of biscuit and candies for the children.
Dizon helps distribute the relief packs to families affected by the earthquake.
“Christmastime is all around us as we provide assistance to families and survivors of calamities,” said PLDT ComRel Head Katherine Diaz De Rivera. “Hope is all around us as we celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.”
“2019 has been a tough year for the people of Bicol. But it is the year that tested our resilience. Together, we move forward with our lives and restart a new chapter filled with hope,” Dizon said.

In Davao del Sur, PLDT GenSan-Cotabato Consumer Experience Zone Head Melvin Lacuna led the distribution of malongs to 300 families in Barangay Tulogan, Municipality of Padada and Barangay Lower Marber, Municipality of Matanao. Mayor Vincent F. Fernandez and the Barangay Captain accompanied the PLDT team during the relief operations.
“It is our responsibility to help our community, especially in times of trials and difficulties. No matter how much hardships we face, as long as we stick with one another, it is always possible to make a difference,” said Lacuna.

PLDT also provided free voice and data at the Command Center in the Municipality of Padada, Davao del Sur, which enabled the municipality to monitor the affected areas and properly coordinate with concerned barangays and agencies.
