The Philippines’ leading broadband services provider PLDT Home bagged top awards for its successful campaigns at the recently concluded 4th ASEAN PR Excellence Awards held in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
Online community Madiskarte Moms PH powered by PLDT Home won the Gold Award for Best Public Relations Program, while Usap Tayo, a campaign launched during the Philippine election season, won the Silver Award for Best Public Relations Campaign, representing the country among the best in ASEAN. Organized by the ASEAN PR Network and held every two years, the ASEAN PR Excellence Awards benchmarks industry and practice standards and celebrate leading communicators in the region.
“Our commitment to understand our customers and respond to their needs drives our aspiration to reach our customers beyond telco. We hope that our campaigns that center on women, particularly mothers, and family can continue to inspire positive change and build deeper, meaningful connections in our community,” said Cheryl Maxine P. Loyola, AVP and Head, PLDT Home Marketing PR.
Launched in the thick of the pandemic, the award-winning online community Madiskarte Moms PH has encouraged entrepreneurship among mothers who want to earn from home through online businesses while managing their households and families. Now with 163,000 members and still growing, PLDT Home has empowered the mothers on the platform by connecting them with established enterprises, providing opportunities for masterclass sessions, and launching the Gawad Madiskarte Awards – recognizing and rewarding the members who have stood out with their inspiring entrepreneurial journey.
On the other hand, the #UsapTayo campaign was created to encourage families and friends to share genuine, honest, and meaningful conversations with love, mutual respect, and kindness amid a polarizing politically charged election season. As a family brand that advocates creating a safe space at home, PLDT Home’s #UsapTayo campaign video reached about 67 million people in various online channels and received positive feedback from netizens, with a lot of them saying that this campaign reminded them of the importance of compassion and kindness amid tension and divisiveness in offline and online spaces.
Earlier this year, Madiskarte Moms PH and Usap Tayo were also cited as among the country’s best PR programs by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), bagging coveted Grand Anvil and Platinum plums at the 58th Anvil Awards.
These initiatives are aligned with the PLDT Group’s broader goal to continuously find ways to promote inclusive technologies that can help boost livelihood opportunities among Filipinos, leaving no one behind. These programs also highlight PLDT Group’s support to the government’s Go Digital Pilipinas Movement as a founding member of the Digital Infrastructure pillar of the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC), which seeks to uplift the lives of Filipinos through adoption of digital services.
