PLDT, through its Community Relations (ComRel) Division, recently joined the #AlayMindanao relief operations of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) at Brgy. Batasan, Makilala in North Cotabato. At least 500 family kits were distributed to priority households.
The family kits consisted of the DSWD-standard food pack of rice, canned goods, coffee and noodles, plus blankets, mats, trapal, and a jerry can with water. PLDT also distributed apples to these beneficiary households. PLDT’s donation for this campaign came from its Motolite-PBSP Balik Baterya funds.
“Our hearts go out to the earthquake survivors in North Cotabato. We can only imagine the trauma and struggle they have faced over the last few days,” PLDT Community Relations (ComRel) Division Head Katherine P. Diaz De Rivera said. “Their resilience is a powerful manifestation of strength amidst adversities. We are here to help them in every little way we can.”
PBSP Executive Director Reynaldo Antonio Laguda and PBSP Corporate Citizenship and CSR Head Kristine Rivadelo led the relief operations. PLDT Consumer Experience Zone-GenSan-Cotabato headed by Melvin O. Lacuna and the PLDT Davao team also participated in the #AlayMindanao activity.
A day before, PLDT also supported the medical mission of the Makati Medical Center Foundation and its partners in Brgy. Ilomavis , Kidapawan City. PLDT ComRel donated some medicines used during the medical mission and distributed apples during the event, especially to the kids.
PLDT Davao family also donated some grocery items and apples which were distributed during the mission. Some were turned over to the TV5 Alagang Kapatid Foundation for their continuous feeding program in the affected areas. A portion of the grocery was also given directly to the Municipality of Makilala Relief Operations Center.
