Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), the leading service provider of voice, data and video telecommunication services announced the opening of its 4th Innovation Laboratory (Innolab) in Davao City today.

PLDT Innolab, where the latest PLDT products are showcased, has been the breeding ground of new ideas where innovative products and business solutions are tested and developed to suit the changing and growing needs of the market.

PLDT Innolab is built for the community and is an ideal place for simulating customer set-up, testing unique or special customer technical requirements, and holding technology classes and RDI (research, development & innovation) programs.

Following the success of its three current Innovation Laboratories - in Manila, introduced in 2003, in Cebu, opened in 2004, and in Clark, launched in 2007 - PLDT is inspired to further extend it to the south, in the city of Davao, a growing business hub within the heart of Mindanao and the country’s strategic gateway to East ASEAN Growth Area or EAGA markets.

Since 2003, PLDT’s Innovation Laboratories have attracted more than 2,000 visits from different industries, the academe, government institutions and investors community, leading to thousands of institutions embracing ICT (information and communications technology) in partnership with PLDT that have helped organizations streamline operations and enhance productivity.

It is this type of ICT-enablement and business partnership that PLDT aims to bring to Davao where existing corporations and other potential investors can be assured of best-in-class infrastructure and innovative ICT solutions.
