PLDT and its wireless unit Smart said they will support government efforts to limit access to Roblox as part of a broader push to strengthen online child protection.

PLDT and Smart urge industry stakeholders to intensify collaboration to address challenges that persist as the government continues to find ways to streamline permitting processes and fast-track the rollout of telco facilities.

In a report submitted by Smart to CICC, the telco reiterated its compliance to the SIM registration law, having incorporated the necessary enhancements and verification mechanisms that its regulators the NTC had required all telcos to implement in December 2023.
