PLDT and its wireless subsidiary Smart have reaffirmed their commitment to back the Government's digitalization efforts. They aim to streamline and transform government processes, narrow the digital divide, and implement policies aligned with the Government's vision of a Bagong Pilipinas.

PLDT Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan believes that a partnership between the Government and the telco sector is crucial in connecting remote, rural areas—officially referred to as Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs).

Leading integrated telco network PLDT Inc. (PLDT) and its wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) are reinforcing the government's push to enable more local government units (LGUs) improve efficiency, reduce red tape, and enhance business environment, by donating hardware to help them set-up their own Electronic Business One-Stop Shops (eBOSS).
