(“Smart”) and Digitel Mobile Philippines, Inc., have signed Sale and Purchase Agreements in connection with the sale of 5,907 telecom towers and related passive telecom infrastructure for PHP 77 billion, a landmark transaction that is expected to have far-reaching benefits for all.

Through the intensified capability of their leading cybersecurity solutions and Child Protection Platform, PLDT and Smart have blocked over 1 billion user attempts to access online child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) since November 2021. The group has also blocked more than 224,000 CSAM URLs or web addresses, as of end March 2022.

PLDT has successfully deployed Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) on its commercial network, enhancing its network's efficiency to deliver 5G, home broadband, and Enterprise services.

Deployed by a number of major global operators with large-scale commercial networks across the world, PLDT has piloted SRv6 to serve customers in selected portions of Metro Manila, becoming the first Philippine telco to achieve this milestone.
