Over a thousand Grades 7 to 12 students from public schools nationwide recently participated in the opening session of the Infoteach Outreach Webinar Series, PLDT’s digital literacy program, presented in partnership with the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU).

In line with the massive cleanup drive nationwide, the Philippines’ largest integrated telco PLDT has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the San Juan city local government unit (LGU) to remove dead and idled wires and fix sagging cables, promoting safety and a better environment in affected areas.

PLDT, in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), launched a project that adopts the Food Always In The Home (FAITH) principle for Marikina Watershed communities.

Manuel V Pangilinan’s Tulong Kapatid, the corporate social responsibility consortium composed of the companies and foundations under his leadership, turned over rescue boats, trucks and a chopper to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to aid in their disaster preparedness as well as rescue operation.

The Chairman of PLDT, Inc, and the PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), Manuel V Pangilinan recently pledged a P4-million scholarship grant to the chosen scholars of his alma mater, San Beda College. Equivalent to P1 million for the next four years, this pledge matches the P4-million-donation of the PSF to the San Beda College Alumni Foundation (SBCAF).

Hailing from a small town in Peñablanca, Cagayan, 93-year-old Franchisca Taguiam has braved thousands of storms. She is among the many residents who have been severely affected by Typhoon Ulysses. PLDT, the country’s largest integrated telco, recently reached out to Taguiam and her family as the company mobilized efforts in typhoon-hit areas.

PLDT, in partnership with Museo Iloilo, invited 25 local artists to participate in the e-Christmas card-making project. Anchored on the theme, “FAITH, HOPE AND LOVE this Christmas in the Time of Pandemic”, the artists created masterpieces, which are collectible and unique Christmas e-cards.

In 2013, when he was brought to the Philippine Eagle Center in Davao City, the brown and white eagle was weak and sickly. He needed caring and nurturing from kind and compassionate people whom he found in the Center. He recovered and got his eagle-strength back and, after three years, was released back to the forest in the Obu-Manuvu ancestral domain in Brgy. Carmen, Baguio District in Davao City.
