PLDT and wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have restored wireless services in most parts of Mindanao after the southern Philippine region was pounded by typhoon Odette.
PLDT wireless communication Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is first to respond to typhoon-hit residents in Barangay Mabua in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur. Smart, together with local partners BizTalk and F&H Marketing, deployed an emergency generator set, which powered the covered court-turned evacuation center, where around 74 families sought shelter.

Enabling disadvantaged Filipinos to celebrate a happier Christmas this year and ensuring that it’s Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Pasko despite life’s challenges, the PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) teamed up with Smart Communications, PLDT Home, PayMaya, and Fiberhome Philippines to provide noche buena packs, vitamins, and t-shirts to jeepney drivers and operators of Barangays Payatas and Bagong Silangan in Quezon City.
A record number of LGUs and organizations have partnered with PLDT and Smart to champion mental health across the country. Among them are General Santos (GenSan), Tarlac, La Union, Lingayen, and Baguio. Organizations such as the Youth for Mental Health Coalition and #MentalHealthPH also collaborated with PLDT and Smart to create safe spaces online for the youth.
Since launching the Better Today Conversations program in October 2020, PLDT and Smart have garnered over 1 million views for its online series on mental health awareness, including the Time Capsule Project and Power Move Project.
