Some things are worth the wait. For five graduates of the University of Cebu–Main Campus, finding jobs was briefly set aside so they could pursue something bigger — a device to transform the lives of persons with visual impairments.

Twenty teams from three senior high schools, and 17 colleges and universities in the Philippines showcased their tech-powered solutions at the Demo Day of the PLDT and Smart Innovation Generation Season 4.

After weeks of hard work and tough competition, the top 25 teams—now called the ‘Giga 25’ – are getting ready to present their minimum viable product at this season’s Innovation Generation (InnoGen) ‘Demo Day’. These standout groups were chosen from 96 original teams in the PLDT Group’s innovation and grant program.

PLDT and Smart welcomed almost a hundred teams that have qualified for the Innovation Generation 4.0 (InnoGen 4). Launched with the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), the fourth season is anchored on the theme “Innovation for All” which aims to empower persons with disabilities.
