MANILA, Philippines, 4th November 2008 –– Philippine Long Distance Telephone
Company (“PLDT”) (PSE: TEL) (NYSE: PHI) today announced unaudited financial results for the first nine months of 2008 with core net income, net of exceptional items, rising to P27.8 billion in the first nine months of 2008, 5% higher than the core net income of P26.4 billion in the same period in 2007.
