PLDT Inc. (PLDT) and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have been shortlisted at the prestigious HR Excellence Awards—the annual program that celebrates exceptional accomplishments and innovations within the dynamic landscape of human resources management in the Philippines.
PLDT and Smart were nominated under Excellence in CSR Strategy category, for its PLDT and Smart Communities program, which highlights the role of inclusive technology and employee engagement, in the areas of digital wellness, disaster resilience, education, and livelihood to help improve the lives and livelihood of Filipinos.
The group was also shortlisted under the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion category, which recognizes an organization’s effective implementation of programs and strategies that help a safe and inclusive work environment. For several years now, the group has been advocating inclusion in the workplace, embracing each employee’s diverse backgrounds, fostering a safe and engaging space, and providing them with opportunities to express their uniqueness. As a member-signatory to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the PLDT group has also established a Diversity and Inclusion Policy that embraces diversity and strives to foster an inclusive culture in the workplace.
PLDT and Smart also bagged a nomination under the Excellence in Learning and Development category which recognizes an organization’s effective and innovative implementation of training and development programs. The group has been doubling down on its investments in its people to win in the fast-evolving business environment. These include a strategic partnership with LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network, to help build a workforce that will deliver more innovations to customers and drive better business outcomes.
