PLDT recently donated to the ENVIROSAFE Program of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) Infrastructure Corporation to help plant and care for 300 Bougainvillea and Lantana seedlings on the 14-kilometer stretch along the Coast of Manila Bay and Bacoor Bay. The planting activity on October 19 was a ceremonial event that marked PLDT’s partnership with CAVITEX.

Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation Chief Financial Officer Christopher C. Lizo and PLDT Community Relations Division Head Katherine P. Diaz De Rivera plant a seedling during the environmental initiative.
PLDT’s employee-volunteers joined the planting of the Bougainvillea and Lantana seedlings in the CAVITEX Aguinaldo Boulevard, Parañaque City. The company, through its PLDT Community Relations (ComRel) Division, has had a strong employee volunteerism program for 16 years now.
Bougainvillea and Lantana are sturdy and decorative plants that contribute to cleaner air and serve as a natural fence of the expressway.

With its support to CAVITEX, PLDT was awarded a plaque of appreciation received by PLDT ComRel Division Head Katherine P. Diaz De Rivera on behalf of the Company. “PLDT champions volunteerism and partnerships to support greening projects and regenerate natural resources. We must do all that we can to preserve and take care of our environment. We have our children and the next generations to think of as we take the necessary steps in protecting our environment,” Diaz De Rivera said.
“We are grateful to PLDT for their support in our green initiative here in CAVITEX. We continue to perform activities that help preserve the environment. Big or small, every effort counts for mother nature,” Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation Group Chief Finance Officer and CAVITEX Chief Operating Officer Christopher Lizo said.
