Advisory: PLDT, Smart ready for ‘Gener’
PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. are ready to extend assistance to response and relief teams in areas where "Gener" is expected to pass. The group has prepositioned personnel, equipment, and resources to ensure the resilience of network services, and if needed, the quick response in areas that will be impacted by the tropical depression.
As of 5 p.m. Philippine Standard Time, weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Tropical Depression Gener continues to maintain its strength as it approaches Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center, and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is forecast to make landfall in the vicinity of Isabela or Aurora within the next 24 hours.
The public is urged to take necessary precautions and heed the alerts and warnings of local governments and disaster response authorities.
