PLDT, Smart ready to help communities impacted by TS 'Kabayan'

[18 December 2024] As of 11am, Philippine Standard Time, PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have pre-positioned mission-critical manpower and equipment to be deployed in areas in Visayas and Mindanao that may be affected by tropical storm (TS) #KabayanPH.  

“Part of the PLDT Group’s thrust is to ensure that our network stays resilient, especially during typhoons. As Kabayan traverses Philippine lands, we are working on setting up our equipment and manpower so we could continuously provide stable and reliable communication services in the coming days,” said Cathy Yang, First Vice President and Head of Group Corporate Communications at PLDT and Smart.  

Tropical Storm ‘Kabayan’ has made its landfall this morning over Brgy. Concepcion, Manay, Davao Oriental as reported by weather bureau PAGASA, raising tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) no. 1 over areas in Palawan in Luzon, and in several provinces in Visayas and Mindanao. 

We urge everyone to take necessary precautions and heed the alerts and warnings of local governments and disaster response authorities.
