MANILA, Philippines, December 1, 2014 – Leading telecoms and multimedia service provider PLDT emerged as the “Most Honored Company” in the Philippines in the 2014 All-Asia Executive Team ranking of leading New York-based investor publication Institutional Investor.

Of the 1,600 Asia-Pacific companies which received votes, only 48 received enough poll votes for recognition as "Most Honored", of which five were Philippine companies. The survey was participated in by investors and financial analysts around the region. PLDT led the five companies that made it in the Philippines-based list and the only telecoms firm to qualify for the recognition.

The Institutional Investor’s 2014 All-Asia Executive Team reflects the opinions of more than 860 buy-side analysts and money managers at nearly 520 firms that collectively manage an estimated $1.04 trillion in Asian equities and of 659 analysts at 94 brokerages.

For the second straight year, PLDT President and CEO Napoleon Nazareno also earned the Best CEO award among Asia’s top three CEOs in the telecoms sector in the publication’s All Asia Executive Team ranking. Also included in the roster of Asia's best CEOs in the telecommunications industry for the buy side were XiaoChu Wang of China Telecom and Yue Li of China Mobile.

PLDT FVP and Head of Investor Relations Melissa Vergel de Dios was also recognized in the Best IR Professional category for regional telecoms while PLDT took second place in the list of Best Investor Relations category in the telecoms sector, following China Telecoms.

Another Philippine company among the ‘Most Honored’ category is Metro Pacific Investment Corporation, a member of the MVP group of companies in the Philippines.
