MANILA, Philippines, April 13, 2016 – Leading telecoms and digital services provider PLDT, through its micro, small, and medium enterprise business arm PLDT Smart SME Nation, has called on Filipino entrepreneurs to look beyond their IT operations in their digital transformation and to integrate a ‘digital’ approach for all aspects and units to grow the business.

PLDT VP and Head of PLDT Smart SME Nation Mitch Locsin urged the country’s SME sector to make their digital transformation inclusive of all departments of their business operations during the announcement of PLDT’s biggest tech conference for SMEs, TechIsland 3.0.

“Business owners have become savvier and more informed on the viable technological solutions out there that could benefit their business. Now the challenge for them is how to make these solutions work for their other critical business units that have a stake in their success,” said Locsin.

“It used to be that tech solutions are strictly for the business of IT but that is not the case now. There are now innovations that are geared towards a business’ Sales & Marketing, Finance, procurement, and even research and insights tools for the owners.”

In making technology viable and more available to different enterprises, TechIsland 3.0 aims to tackle the opportunities in challenging the standard business mindset to give MSMEs new perspectives in managing their business.
