PLDT Inc. has been named a Network Transformation Icon for Growth at the 2025 Fast Mode Awards, standing out as the only Philippine telco recognized among this year’s global winners.

The Fast Mode Awards honor industry leaders reshaping connectivity and advancing the capabilities of modern telecom networks. PLDT earned this distinction for its multi-year OSS Transformation Program, a major modernization effort that strengthens the digital backbone supporting customer and network operations across PLDT and its wireless unit, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart).

Launched in August 2024 and running until 2027, the program is upgrading systems that power essential services such as customer support, service provisioning, and network resource management. In partnership with Amdocs, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services (AWS), PLDT is shifting toward a cloud-based and AI-enabled operations environment that enhances efficiency, accuracy, and overall service delivery.

As the only Philippine organization recognized at this year’s awards, PLDT carries this achievement with pride. “This award affirms our ongoing efforts to build a smarter, more responsive, and more secure network for every Filipino,” said Gilbert Gaw, First Vice President and Head of the Information Technology and Transformation Office. “The OSS Transformation is more than a technology program. It is an investment in the country’s digital future and a reflection of the PLDT Group’s commitment to deliver meaningful connections that uplift lives.”

Just one year into implementation, the program is already showing meaningful impact. It has improved how customer requests are handled across PLDT’s key business units, resulting in more efficient workflows and better customer experience. Another milestone, the migration of network records into a new centralized system, has strengthened data accuracy and paved the way for more automated and seamless processes.

Beyond these early gains, the OSS Transformation is helping PLDT build a smarter and more agile network for the future. With new tools, automated workflows, and data-driven processes, the organization is better equipped to respond and roll out new technologies and services with greater agility.
