Smart has powered the Province of Siquijor’s Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council (DRRMC) via the Smart Infocast facility which will provide seamless means of communication among its constituents especially during times of crises.
Smart Infocast is a web-based text-broadcasting solution that enables public and private institutions to easily disseminate vital information within their organization and community. The importance of this broadcasting tool has been especially exemplified during the restrictive COVID-19 lockdown and during recent onslaught of Super Typhoon Odette which had ravaged most parts in the Visayas region.
“The Provincial Government of Siquijor through the PDRRMC is so grateful for the support of Smart via the Infocast solution. With the new normal and the unpredictable weather conditions, this initiative will greatly contribute to the fast and efficient communication among our stakeholders, partners and our community,” said Blezela Omictin, Province of Siquijor DRRMC Spokesperson.
“As a responsible corporate citizen, Smart continues to strengthen our community service through our various programs and solutions that aim to help our partners. One of which is the Infocast Service, a free solution that we provided to the Province of Siquijor. We hope that through this service, we were able to help them reach out to their community faster and easier,” said Harrieth Baratbate, Smart Community Development Supervisor.
This initiative is part of Smart’s advocacy to improve the lives of the Filipino people by delivering digital solutions to its partner communities, supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal # 11 of making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
