The speakers for the #CyberSmart caravan include Yves Gonzales, Google Philippines’ Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy; Kristian Pagurayan, PLDT and Smart’s Cyber Security Operations Group Awareness, Training and User Adoption Lead; and Atty. Cecille Soria-Harder, PLDT Group Privacy Office’s Head for Privacy Regulatory and Case Management. PLDT Group’s Data Privacy Partnering Manager for Privacy Education and Assessments Atty. Abigail Go joins the live Q&A session. 

PLDT’s wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) held the #CyberSmart caravan in De La Salle Lipa for its Parents and Educators Nourishing and Cooperating in La Salle (PENCIL) association. As one of Smart’s long-time academe partners, this particular engagement with De La Salle Lipa and its parent community aims to bring cybersecurity and internet safety to parents, faculty, and students.

#CyberSmart is one of PLDT and Smart’s key efforts in bringing awareness to safeguarding the digital lives of its publics, especially in the new ‘always on’ normal. 

“Our knowledge in cybersecurity, determining fake news, protecting data privacy and digital wellness has been enhanced – thanks to our esteemed line-up of speakers. Truly, technology is amazing. It is a relevant platform in the advancements in communication and information. With all the positive impacts of the Internet, this session has given us an opportunity to learn more about the risks we might face in the digital space and how we can remain vigilant amid these threats,” said PENCIL President Dennis Santos. 

The session invited key industry leaders to talk about the importance of staying alert, being informed, and remaining vigilant amid the risks and issues in the internet, in order to foster safer spaces online. The speakers included Yves Gonzales, Google Philippines’ Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy; Kristian Pagurayan, PLDT and Smart’s Cyber Security Operations Group Awareness, Training and User Adoption Lead; and Atty. Cecille Soria-Harder, PLDT Group Privacy Office’s Head for Privacy Regulatory and Case Management. PLDT Group’s Data Privacy Partnering Manager for Privacy Education and Assessments Atty. Abigail Go also joined the live Q&A session.
