MANILA, Philippines - The 7th Asian Carriers’ Conference (ACC) hosted by PLDT and Smart Communications Inc. bagged the Best Telecommunications Conference award at the first Asian Conference Summit & Awards held in Singapore recently. ACC is an annual telecom event attended by almost 1,000 delegates from 45 countries.
The ACC, which bested other events all over Asia, was cited for providing a venue for leaders around the world from the wholesale fixed and mobile telecom carriers to meet and engage with delegates from telecoms network and infrastructure providers, applications and service developers, handset and equipment manufacturers, and entertainment and content producers and distributors.
"This international recognition inspires us to make the next conference more relevant and meaningful to our participants," said PLDT Carrier Product Development and Marketing Head Edgardo SB. Antonio II.
Themed “Embracing New Value Streams for Growth,” the 7th ACC presented new concepts and innovations in telecommunications and beyond, as well as developments and opportunities for growth.
"It also enabled its participants to conclude business, conduct bilateral meetings, network with peers and colleagues in the telecom industry, and enjoy the Filipino hospitality," Antonio said.
Hutchison Global Communications’ Senior Business Development Manager Phatanadit Kulphaichitra who talked about optimizing new services development to growing demands in Asia Pacific was one of the world-renowned speakers during last year's conference.
The 2012 ACC will be held again in Cebu from September 4 to 7. It is expected to surpass the number of attendees last year.
Building on the success of the London Conference Awards, the Asian Conference Summit & Awards was launched this year by key players from the international conference and events industry to celebrate and reward excellence and innovation in the commercial conference world.
