According to PLDT Community Relations (ComRel) Division Head Katherine P. Diaz De Rivera, PLDT spearheads many CSR efforts that are geared towards enriching the lives of Filipinos. “This year, our CSR efforts, in partnership with the PRC Iloilo Chapter, are geared towards supporting the well-being, proper hygiene, and nutrition of our youth — the hope of our future.”

PRC Iloilo Chapter Administrator Gilbert Valderrama shared that the partnership with PLDT started with the blood donation but has grown to be a solid collaboration through the years. “PLDT has also been an active supporter of our efforts, especially when it comes to our initiatives,” Valderrama said. “This includes our mobile kitchen in which PLDT has been one of the donors. Recently, the mobile kitchen has travelled as far as Davao Del Sur for the earthquake survivors as we continue to conduct feeding programs across the country.”

PLDT also distributed hygiene kits to the students to encourage them to practice proper hygiene and healthcare.

Among PRC’s other target areas for the promotion of proper hygiene and nutrition to over 800 students are Tuyongan Integrated School (a 100% indigenous community), Aglibacao Elementary School, Ipil Elementary School, and Tabucan Elementary School.

PLDT has always supported Iloilo’s yearly Dinagyang celebration as one of the festival sponsors and has conducted several CSR programs in Iloilo.
