PLDT is providing the connectivity requirements of the Marikina Local Government Unit's (LGU) Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory, the LGU's COVID-19 testing center which will serve affected residents of Marikina and the neighboring towns of San Mateo and Rodriguez and Antipolo City.
The facility is connected to the outside world via PLDT's fiber-powered voice and data capabilities, enabling the laboratory staff to efficiently communicate with patients and contacts in the health department.
"We are glad to serve the connectivity needs of Marikina's COVID-19 testing center, a necessity in the current health crisis," said PLDT Marikina CX Zone Head Romer Gonzales.
"PLDT's extensive network infrastructure will provide this testing center with the most reliable connection to people and relevant organizations, helping in the delivery of accurate, fast, and efficient service," Gonzales added.
A project of Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro, the testing center is located inside a newly-built two-storey building in Barangay Concepcion Uno. It was designed in compliance with the recommendations on space and biosafety standards set by the Department of Health (DOH) and the World Health Organization (WHO), according to the Marikina City website.
