Cebu City's new COVID-19 treatment and isolation center has been equipped with high-speed WiFi for the use of patients and frontliners.
The New Normal Oasis for Adaptation and a Home (NOAH) Complex at the city's South Road Properties now has enterprise-grade Internet and WiFi using Cisco Meraki Access Points provided by leading telecoms and digital services provider PLDT.
The fourth quarantine facility set up in Cebu City, the NOAH Complex has 400 tents that can accommodate up to 1,200 patients with mild to moderate cases of coronavirus infections. It is the area where patients from barangay isolation clinics are being transferred.
Set up at the facilities of Bigfoot Studios, a private company, the NOAH Complex project was initiated by Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama and Tourism Commissioner Jocelyn Pesquera.
“With the high rate of COVID cases in Cebu City, it is vital that everyone join hands in fighting the pandemic. PLDT is supporting government efforts by providing high speed WiFi Internet so patients can maintain strong connections with their families while they are in this quarantine facility. The connectivity also helps the frontline healthcare workers to do their work as they treat their patients," said PLDT AVP and Head for Corporate Relationship Management Jimmy V. Chua.
