PLDT Inc. and Smart Communications, Inc. capped a stellar 2022 with over 100 citations from local and international organizations for pioneering brand, corporate social responsibility, cybersecurity, network and sustainability initiatives.

These include the prestigious CEO of the Year citation for PLDT and Smart chief executive Alfredo S. Panlilio from Singapore-based Asia Communication Awards (ACA). The group also landed on the ACA Honor Roll, with high commendations under the Operator of the Year, Crisis Response and Social Contribution categories. London-based World Communication Awards also gave high commendations to the group under the same categories.

As top Philippine telco at the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, PLDT and Smart bagged one gold, five silver, and three bronze Stevie awards for key PLDT Enterprise, PLDT Home and Smart campaigns. The group also received Gold and Silver Stevies from the International Business Awards for its customer safety campaign, Project Tower, and #FarmSmart program respectively.

PLDT and Smart also attained back-to-back Company of the Year citations from the 57th Anvil Awards and the 19th Philippine Quill Awards. The Group reaped 19 Anvils and 53 Quills in 2022.

Maybank Philippines, Inc. also cited PLDT And Smart as "Tiger Champions” for demonstrating the same values espoused by Maybank, and for achieving pioneering accomplishments that define the superior productivity of the Filipino talent.

Meanwhile, Ookla, the global leader in mobile and broadband network intelligence, recognized PLDT as Fastest Fixed Network and Smart as the Best Mobile Network, Fastest Mobile Network and the Best in Mobile Coverage for the first two quarters of 2022. Germany-based global benchmarking company umlaut also recognized Smart with Best in Test, Best Rated Download Speed, Best Rated Upload Speed, Best Rated Latency citations. Smart, in collaboration with P.I. Works, also bagged the APAC Operator Award for Best Example of Automation Deployment at the FutureNet Asia Event, highlighting the company’s focus on automation to deliver the best customer experience.

The group also received the nod of The Asset ESG Corporate Awards, which recognized PLDT with a Gold Award, based on a submission covering a wide range of sustainability metrics.

PLDT ended 2022 as one the top corporations in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region for corporate governance. PLDT was among over 230 companies that scored at least 97.5 in the 2021 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) of the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum.
