Representatives from MVP-led companies expressed their support for the Quezon City Government
PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) continues to advocate for youth development and wellness, through the recent turnover of an Obstacle-in-a-Box to the 2nd district of Quezon City, held during the Bahay at Buhay:Solo Parents Caravan in the second district of Quezon City.
“Apart from programs focused on education, disaster response and recovery, PSF also advocates for health and wellness. Our leaders themselves, PLDT Chairman Manuel V Pangilinan and President and CEO Al S. Panlilio, also champion sports as part of nation building. We continue to support projects that help improve overall health and wellness of Filipinos in urban communities, especially the youth, through sports,” said PSF President Esther Santos.

The 12-in-1 Obstacle-in-a-Box aims to introduce obstacle sports and build safe spaces for fitness and recreation in Quezon City communities.
“This Obstacle-in-a-Box donated by PSF targets to improve youth development in our district through sports,” said Quezon City 2nd District Councilor Mikey Belmonte.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and Councilor Belmonte led the ceremony joined by representatives from PLDT, Smart, Metro Pacific Health, Maynilad, Meralco, MVP Sports Foundation, and the Pilipinas Obstacle Sports Federation.

PLDT and Smart have also set up booths in the Solo Parents Caravan to bring their mobile and network services closer to Quezon City residents, especially solo parents, to keep them connected.
“I encourage our solo parents to avail Quezon City’s programs that aim to support them and address their needs. We have education assistance for their children, social welfare programs, and other incentives for families needing aid,” said Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte in her speech during the event. This was also posted on the official Facebook Page of the Quezon City Government.
During the Solo Parents Caravan, other members of the MVP Group also extended support to the barangays in the second district. mWell, by Metro Pacific Health Tech Corporation, also forged a partnership with Quezon City government to strengthen the commitment of achieving good health and well-being.

“We recognize the challenges solo parents face. The mWell partnership will also enable us to bring medical services faster to our solo parents,” added Councilor Belmonte.
This is part of the PLDT Group’s broader commitment to champion sports and provide opportunities for the youth as part of nation-building. This is aligned with the UN SDG #3 Good Health and Well-being.
