The PLDT Divers Club, Inc. (PDCI) recently participated in the 2019 International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) in line with the Global Coastal Cleanup event held in Anilao, Batangas. 

In partnership with the local government of Anilao, Batangas, Aquaventure Reef Club, Divenet Philippines, JRN Catering, and the PLDT Employees Credit Cooperative Inc. (PECCI), PDCI volunteer divers and family members removed garbage under water and the shoreline of Anilao.

The ICC began more than 30 years ago, when communities globally rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash that litter the coastlines and waterways.  

The PLDT Divers Club, Inc. participated at the 2019 International Coastal Cleanup in Anilao, Batangas.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary on November 28 this year, PDCI is a strong advocate of the conservation of our country’s oceans through various initiatives, including buoy installation projects, coastal and underwater cleanup activities, mangrove propagation projects and coral seeding projects.

The Club also supports the Shore It Up project led by the Metro Pacific Investments Coporation, and partners with the PLDT Community Relations in various coastal and underwater cleanup activities. 

PDCI aims to promote scuba diving as a sport and to raise diving safety awareness through continuous education and dissemination of information about the sport. It also aims to foster camaraderie among PLDT employees who share the same love and appreciation for the Earth’s natural resources.
