Netizens have been posting the new speeds they’ve been getting with their Fiber plans after PLDT rolled out its planned speed boost for loyal subscribers.
With some doubling the speeds of their unlimited Fibr plans, some are quick to share their excitement and their experience on social media.
MARK PEREZ, Baguio
A resident of Baguio City, Mark Perez has been a loyal PLDT subscriber since 2001, and was even one of the first to upgrade their DSL plan to a Fibr plan four years ago. After receiving a prompt that his line at home was eligible for the speed boost, he was quick to follow the instructions and was able to activate their new speeds. He posted: “Thought I’ll never see this speed in Baguio. Salamat PLDT for the free speed boost.” He uses his data at home to connect his Smart TV and for browsing.

Twitter user @itsjohnmichaels also shared his experience of being assisted by PLDT operator Analou on the phone regarding his concern, and was surprised to learn that despite their remote area in Lipa, Batangas, their Home Fibr plan was also eligible to get a 20mbps boost.
“To think that my address is somehow a remote area or too far from the city proper of Lipa. The service was terrific! I can now continuously watch and download movies, update my apps in just seconds, and play online games without interruptions,” he shares. He has had their home subscription since 2017 and shares their connectivity with his brother and his family, using it primarily for streaming videos, and work.
GENESIS GERMAN, Pateros
Genesis German was also ecstatic to post their boosted speeds on Facebook right after activation. Sharing his home connection with everyone in the family, their house in Pateros now enjoys 100mbps from their previous plan of 50mbps. Luckily, his room is near where the PLDT modem is situated giving him the full benefit of a strong signal to help him in his mythic quest playing Mobile Legends. His sister uses their data for researching and social media, while his parents enjoy streaming movies and videos.
CHIP SILLESA, Rizal
A resident of Taytay, Rizal, Chip was also quick to share their boosted speed at home. Having had their PLDT line since the 80’s, they were able to upgrade their DSL line to a Fibr plan just last year. Now at 100mbps, their internet speeds has even improved his family’s video streaming from Netflix, and Chip’s gaming.
The free speed boost is part of PLDT’s on-going program to upgrade the internet experience of users to meet the increasing practice of using data for everyday life of Filipinos. After gradually rolling out in several areas, subscribers with existing Fibr plans have received increased speeds to even doubled their previous speed subscription.
The speed boosts will give current subscription plans the following: Google Wifi Plan 6299 subscribers will enjoy 300 Mbps (from 250 Mbps), while Google Wifi Plan 4299 subscribers will experience up to 150 Mbps (from 120 Mbps). Unli Fibr Plan 2899 subscribers will double their speeds to enjoy up to 100 Mbps (from 50Mbps), while subscribers of Unli Fibr Plan 1899, Plan 1699, and Plan 1299 will experience up to 30 Mbps, 20 Mbps, and 10 Mbps, respectively.
