Manuel V Pangilinan steps down as President & CEO of PLDT Inc. (PLDT) (PSE: TEL) (NYSE: PHI), and retains his post as PLDT Chairman. At the 2021 PLDT Annual Shareholders’ Meeting, Alfredo S. Panlilio was appointed to the post and will now concurrently serve as President and CEO of PLDT and Smart.  Panlilio retains his post as Chief Revenue Officer of PLDT.

PLDT Chairman Manny V Pangilinan gives back to the Ateneo community by helping build the Fr. Roque Ferriols SJ Suscipe Fund, which aims to defray expenses relating to the care of senior and infirm Jesuits, more fondly known as the “Lolo Jesuits.”

PLDT Chairman President & CEO Manuel V Pangilinan made a gift donation of US$1 million to The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. A Wharton graduate himself, his donation establishes the Manny V Pangilinan MBA Fellowship Fund and support the Tangen Hall Mechatronics Laboratory.

Manuel V Pangilinan’s moniker as MVP was made all the more accurate during the 4th Philippine Sports Tourism Awards after being recognized as the private sector’s Sports Tourism Personality of the Year for 2019.
