PLDT and Smart Mt. Bulusan Advisory

ADVISORY 06 [16 June 2022] As of 4 pm Philippine Standard Time, PLDT and Smart, together with PLDT-Smart Foundation, TV 5 and Alagang Kapatid Foundation, extended aid to families affected by the eruption of Mt. Bulusan in Sorsogon.

The PLDT Group and PSF, in close coordination with other MVP-led organizations, distributed 500 packs of relief assistance, as well as 10,000 face masks and 10,000 vitamin tablets in the following areas:

  • Brgy. Escuala

PLDT restores 86% of its fixed line services and Smart restores 99% in Visayas, fast tracks last mile in Mandaue, Mactan, Bohol

Despite the continued absence of commercial power in some locations and re-work due to clearing operations as well as incidents of cable theft, PLDT Inc. and its wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. have restored services by up to 99% for wireless customers and 86% for fixed customers in the Visayas, following the onslaught of Super Typhoon Odette.

Asia-America Gateway (AAG) Emergency Maintenance Activities

The operator of the international trans-Pacific submarine cable system Asia-America Gateway (AAG), has informed PLDT that emergency maintenance activities will be conducted on AAG submarine cables in the waters of Hong Kong SAR from Saturday, 26 September 2020 9:00 AM to Wednesday, 30 September 2020 5:00 AM (Philippine Standard Time).

PLDT Network Advisory: Tropical Storm Mario

Tulong Kapatid, the disaster response network of the various companies chaired by Manuel V. Pangilinan, is deploying emergency teams to communities affected by Storm Mario that need immediate relief and assistance. Led by the PLDT-Smart Foundation, One Meralco Foundation, Maynilad and TV5’s Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Tulong Kapatid is distributing food, clothing, blankets, towels, and water in various evacuation centers nationwide. PLDT and TV5 are also sending vehicles to transport stranded commuters in Metro Manila.

Network Advisory 3: Smart, Sun restore mobile network coverage in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines, July 17, 2014 – Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and Sun Cellular have fully restored mobile network service coverage in Metro Manila as of Thursday morning. But network optimization activities are still on-going and as a result, subscribers may experience some level of degradation of voice and mobile Internet services in certain areas in the National Capital Region.
