PLDT and its wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. have sought the help of government agencies in gaining access to more than 300 sites for installations and repairs in order to provide quality and reliable services to the public.

PLDT and Smart reaffirmed the Group’s continuous commitment in creating a more crisis-resilient future by recently kicking off its Sustainability Reporting program for 2020. 

PLDT is ramping up its efforts to protect children from online predators. The telco said it has blocked more than 2,900 sites linked to online sexual abuse and exploitation of children. PLDT added that it is constantly working with the government to beef up cyber defenses against these crimes.

PLDT has invited sought after leadership expert and recognized author Dr. Nancy Koehn as the keynote speaker at PLDT's Annual Corporate Governance Enhancement Session this year.

PLDT Inc., together with its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc., were granted the 2020 Sustainability Initiative of the Year Award by US-based Business Intelligence Group (BIG) for their environmental stewardship program, Gabay Kalikasan.  

PLDT, Smart and PLDT Enterprise have teamed up with over a hundred schools, colleges and universities nationwide, as well as tech giants Microsoft and Google to make connectivity and digital solutions more accessible to the education sector.

Smart has already signed agreements with six common tower companies to build a pilot batch of almost 200 macro cell sites and is currently finalizing agreements with four more.

PLDT and its subsidiaries Smart and ePLDT have signed an agreement with the Philippine Air Force to help improve its cybersecurity capabilities.

Over the past year, PLDT wireless subsidiary Smart Communications Inc. has added more data users, as its GIGA data packages continue to gain greater customer acceptance.
