Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has turned over Smart Bro Prepaid Pocket WiFi Advance devices to McDonald’s Philippines to support its McDonald’s Classrooms initiative converting 250 unused party rooms into temporary distance learning classrooms.

The Philippines’ tourism industry was among the many sectors severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. With most tourism efforts halted the past year, people in the industry experienced devastating loss, taking a toll on their mental health.

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have strengthened their partnership with TikTok, the global platform for short-form mobile videos, for a campaign that advocates mental health awareness for Filipinos.

A 15-year-old high school student from Aurora province recently bagged the grand prize in the PLDT HomeFibr Broadband Quiz, an online academic contest participated in by top graduates of PLDT’s flagship education advocacy program Infoteach Outreach Webinar Series.

Driven by its core value of “malasakit”, Smart Communications, Inc. and PLDT-Smart Foundation, Inc. have donated care bags to the City of Iloilo to support their battle against COVID-19. These bags contain essential goods such as facemasks, face shields, alcohol, and grocery items that will assist the city’s frontline workers and other beneficiaries amid the pandemic.

PLDT and wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) together with the PLDT-Smart Foundation are helping residents in Aparri, Cagayan get back on their feet after the onslaught of Tropical Cyclone Maring in October.

Championing mental wellness to more communities, PLDT and Smart, through the Better Today program, collaborated with the local government unit (LGU) of Lingayen, raising youth awareness on mental health.

According to a recent study done by PLDT Global Corporation, nine out of ten OFWs based in the Middle East send mobile load to their families back home to stay connected.
