More than 1,000 business leaders, entrepreneurs, tech professionals, and students gathered in Cebu for Tech Week PH 2025, embracing transformative digital solutions that promise to reshape the region's economic landscape. The event, organized by PLDT Inc.’s corporate business arm, PLDT Enterprise, provided Visayas-based businesses and MSMEs with critical insights on AI adoption, cloud integration, next-generation connectivity, and startup innovation, which are essential tools for competing in today's rapidly evolving digital economy.

More than 1,000 Visayas-based stakeholders attended PLDT Enterprise's first-ever Tech Week PH in Cebu.
PLDT Enterprise aims to help accelerate digital transformation across the Philippines by bringing Tech Week PH to Davao, then to Cebu, and is expected to culminate in Manila.
Cebu, a major driver of the national economy contributing P411.32 billion to the country's GDP, has established itself as a leader in BPO, manufacturing, tourism, trade, and a rapidly growing digital economy. The region's strategic importance makes it an ideal focal point for digital transformation initiatives.
The event highlighted how AI is reshaping various sectors in Cebu, from retail and e-commerce with machine learning-driven recommendations to BPO with AI-driven automation enhancing productivity. In manufacturing, predictive analytics is optimizing production lines, while AI-powered insights are helping tourism businesses anticipate travel trends.
Delegates explore the Tech City at Tech Week PH Cebu—a smart city-inspired hub featuring cutting-edge innovations, interactive demos, and collaboration opportunities from various partners.
“We are committed to AI adoption, digital transformation, and workforce development while prioritizing the crucial pillars of cybersecurity and ethical AI practices. Essential to this progress are strong collaborations with industry leaders like PLDT. Our national vision is ambitious yet attainable to establish the Philippines as the leading AI hub in the ASEAN region by 2032,” said Frederick Amores, Regional Director, DICT Regional Office VII during his message of support at Tech Week PH in Cebu.
To support this digital transformation, PLDT and Smart are expanding infrastructure investments in Cebu and across the Visayas. PLDT's fixed network, the most extensive in the country, is present in 91% of provinces, while two in every three Filipinos in key Visayas cities are covered by Smart's 5G network.

Tech Week PH in Cebu explored practical implementations of AI to streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, and create growth opportunities. Discussions also covered how infrastructure—5G, globally certified data centers, cloud computing, and cybersecurity—serve as key enablers of success in the digital economy, along with strategies for bridging the regional digital divide.
