As Mindanao accelerates its digital transformation, entrepreneurs and business owners explored artificial intelligence (AI)-driven innovation and big data at PLDT Enterprise’s Tech Week PH 2025 in Davao City.

Committed to advancing digital transformation in Mindanao, AIRA Labs, through PLDT Enterprise’s first multi-city technology event, showcased groundbreaking innovations that drive regional growth. AIRA Labs, a leading data science and AI start-up, introduced the AIRA Command Center (AIRA CC), an advanced AI-powered platform that bridges the gap between data collection and real-time intelligence. This partnership highlights PLDT Enterprise's dedication to supporting regional development and empowering local businesses through the transformative power of technology.

“We are facing a pivotal moment where data is exploding, but we still need to harness its effective use,” said Karl Del Val, AIRA Labs co-founder, during Tech Week PH 2025. “It is not just about collecting information. It is about transforming how we understand and respond to the world around us.”

AIRA CC serves as a central hub for enterprises and local government units (LGUs), aggregating information from CCTV footage, IoT sensors, social media trends, and customer interactions into a single intelligent platform. It replaces outdated manual processes while enhancing operational efficiency and security.

“If we want to thrive in the future as enterprises, we must embrace AI,” Del Val emphasized. AIRA CC ensures that decision-makers have access to critical insights when they need them. By leveraging real-time data, businesses can optimize operations, LGUs can improve public safety and streamline governance, and organizations can make smarter, faster decisions.

Organized by PLDT’s B2B arm, PLDT Enterprise, Tech Week PH 2025 showcased how AI, big data, and strong digital infrastructure drive regional development. As part of its mission to support digital innovation across the country, the technology event also served as a space for start-ups to showcase their innovations—especially in emerging innovation hubs like Mindanao.

Through programs like Tech Week PH, the group reinforces its commitment to nurturing the next generation of tech leaders by providing meaningful opportunities for collaboration, exposure, and growth.

Mitch Locsin, First Vice President and Head of Enterprise Core Business, PLDT and Smart, said, “Innovation thrives when start-ups are given the platform to be heard and seen.”

“At PLDT Enterprise, we are proud to champion the ingenuity of local innovators, especially in regional areas like Mindanao. Supporting start-ups is more than an initiative—it’s at the heart of our mission to build a future where every brilliant idea has a chance to grow. Through initiatives like Tech Week PH, we are creating platforms for businesses and tech innovators to collaborate and transform, empowering them with the tools, technology, and connections they need to scale, succeed, and shape the future of our digital economy,” added Locsin.

PLDT’s robust connectivity powers AI and big data solutions like AIRA CC. High-speed, reliable networks are essential for transmitting vast amounts of real-time data, ensuring seamless integration between AI-driven platforms and the companies that rely on them. PLDT continues to expand its network infrastructure across the country, strengthening fiber connectivity and increasing its total fiber footprint, now spanning over 1.1 million kilometers.

Bringing the event to Davao City helps Mindanao not just keep pace with digital advancements but actively shape the future of technology, further reinforcing PLDT’s commitment to fostering innovation and technological growth in the country.
