PLDT, Smart aid continues in ‘Emong’-hit areas

July 28, 2025—PLDT and Smart have set up additional Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging stations in Cavite, Baguio, La Union, Pangasinan and Tarlac to assist communities affected by Typhoon “Emong” and the southwest monsoon (habagat). These services aim to help residents reconnect with loved ones and access essential information as recovery efforts continue.

These deployments complement ongoing support in parts of Metro Manila, Southern Luzon, and Northern and Central Luzon, where habagat and back-to-back typhoons have disrupted daily life. PLDT and Smart teams are working round the clock to keep communication lines open in the hardest-hit areas.

In Quezon City, the PLDT group’s social outreach arm, PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF), is working with Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc. (AKFI) in distributing hot meals to families affected by the recent heavy rains.

PLDT and Smart remain committed to building #SafeandSmart communities by providing swift response—whenever and wherever Filipinos need it most.
