PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) launches 5G roaming services with True Move H Universal Communication Co., Ltd. (True) in Thailand, expanding 5G roaming availability in 15 countries with 21 partners worldwide.
True is Thailand’s only fully integrated telecommunications provider, offering mobile services, broadband internet, television, content, as well as digital and other telecommunication services.
Smart’s partnership with True allows customers in Thailand to access Smart’s worry-free 5G roaming services with their Smart 5G-ready SIM and 5G-capable device. Prepaid and postpaid customers can subscribe to the GigaRoam Thailand data pack that comes with 100GB for only P1,299/10 days. Roamers can simply visit roam.smart.com.ph or download the GigaLife app to discover and subscribe to roaming data plans.

Currently chaired by PLDT Global CEO and head of International and Carrier Business Katrina Luna-Abelarde, CONEXUS and Smart have jointly led initiatives which contributed to the growth of the industry in the region.
Nonstop 5G roaming expansion
Smart is leading the way as the Philippines’ first mobile network operator to have the most extensive 5G roaming service with telco leaders in key markets.
To widen its 5G roaming coverage, Smart also recently teamed up with Sunrise in Switzerland; SmarTone and Hong Kong Telecommunications in Hong Kong; Pelephone in Israel; Turkcell in Turkey; Ooredoo and STC in Kuwait; StarHub in Singapore; NTT Docomo in Japan; Vodafone in Australia; Zain Kuwait, Zain Saudi Arabia, and Zain Bahrain; China Mobile and China Unicom in China; Etisalat and du in United Arab Emirates; FarEasTone and T-Star in Taiwan; and KT Corp in South Korea.
5G leader in PH
As the Philippines’ first mobile network operator to roll out an extensive 5G roaming series of partnerships with industry leaders in key markets, Smart remains at the forefront of the 5G revolution back home. To date, more than 2,300 Smart 5G sites have been fired up at strategic locations nationwide including in all of Metro Manila's cities and municipalities, and in the provinces of Benguet, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, Cebu, Iloilo, Aklan, Misamis Oriental, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Davao.
