The Philippines' leading integrated telco network PLDT Inc. and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. are betting on the revolutionary potential of 5G-powered Fixed Wireless Access in delivering high-speed internet to underserved regions in the Philippines.
PLDT's wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is beefing up its network capacity, particularly for 5G, in cities and urban areas to support growing 5G adoption and enhance customer experience on 5G.
PLDT Inc. (PLDT), the Philippines’ largest telecommunications company, and Cisco have collaborated to build a 5G Stand Alone (SA) service platform in Manila. This will be based in PLDT’s existing 5G TechnoLab in Makati City, to drive innovation in Consumer and Enterprise 5G solutions in the country.
PLDT and its wireless subsidiary, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), are looking to further improve customer experience and enhance their ability to provide digital services faster and more efficiently through automation and end-to-end service orchestration in their integrated network.
Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has expanded its nationwide 5G network to around 6,400 base stations, surpassing the initial target of 3,800 5G base stations for 2021.
