PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) are doubling down on their commitment to sharpen the competitive edge of local MSMEs. Through the award-winning eBizNovation program, the PLDT Group, continues to strengthen its end-to-end support— helping entrepreneurs build digital skills, grow their online presence, and expand into e-commerce to reach wider markets.
Building on the momentum of 2025—which saw over 3,000 MSMEs trained in AI-driven business growth, digital marketing, and e-commerce—PLDT and Smart are broadening the reach of the eBizNovation program this year, to move from inclusion to mastery.
"We enter 2026 with a clear goal: to turn digital inclusion into digital mastery for our local entrepreneurs," says Roby A. Alampay, FVP and Head of Public Engagement at PLDT and Smart. "After seeing the life-changing impact of technology on MSMEs last year, we are committed to bringing these tools to even more communities all over the country."

With a sharper focus for 2026, the roadmap shifts from simple digital adoption to operational excellence. By moving MSMEs from foundational literacy to active global participation, PLDT and Smart aim to sustain the growth seen in 2025—where many businesses supported achieved up to 500% profit increases—via a learning journey through digital upskilling, market expansion, and entrepreneurial resilience.
This year, PLDT and Smart are scaling the eBizNovation Community Adoption Program, which was launched in 2023, to provide its supported MSMEs with hands-on, community-based learning along with personalized support to be onboarded on e-commerce. Following its implementation in Bulacan in partnership with DTI Bulacan Provincial Office, the program—which combines hands-on digital modules with cybersecurity initiative—will be introduced to new provinces to foster secure and resilient business environments.
The impact of this roadmap is already being felt on the ground. Frances Cruz, 49, owner of a food commissary in Malolos, Bulacan, shares how the training has optimized her customer engagement: "It has become the primary means of communication for inquiries, especially those from far away."

Similarly, Mona Enriquez, 32, a local fragrance shop entrepreneur also from Malolos, emphasizes that digital presence is no longer optional. “At this time, that is the most effective way for brand awareness, so that you can have a wider reach of possible customers,” she explains.
The PLDT Group’s eBizNovation program continues to draw inspiration from graduates like Abbie Ricohermoso of Josefina’s Homemade Food. A 2023 program graduate, Ricohermoso transformed her family eatery into a global brand and now serves as lead mentor to guide new participants, embodying the "entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs" spirit that defines the initiative.
Stephanie V. Orlino, AVP and Head of Stakeholder Engagement at PLDT and Smart, added: “Our focus for 2026 is sustainability and security. As we help MSMEs grow their digital footprint, we are equally committed to protecting their digital assets and customer data through rigorous cybersecurity education."
As PLDT and Smart continue to invest in MSME empowerment, it remains a cornerstone of the Group’s broader advocacy for digital inclusion. This ensures that given the essential tools, knowledge, and services, Filipino MSMEs remain the resilient backbone of a digitally empowered Philippines throughout 2026 and beyond.
