Entrepreneurs from the City of Muntinlupa recently gained practical digital marketing skills through a Social Media Marketing Workshop organized by the Local Economic and Investment Promotion Office of Muntinlupa (LEIPO-Muntinlupa), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and PLDT Enterprise.

The workshop is part of the SME Roving Academy (SMERA), DTI's continuous learning program for the development of small businesses to become competitive in domestic and international markets.

To support the workshop, PLDT and Smart drew from its #KonektedforLivelihoods program and discussed social media marketing and content creation using Canva, and digital selling through platforms such as TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada, and Facebook Marketplace.

Recognizing that digital entrepreneurship skills alone is not enough, PLDT and Smart also discussed cybersecurity, equipping participants with practical knowledge on how to protect their personal and business accounts from digital threats.

The workshop drew genuine engagement from attendees, who came ready to learn and actively shared their own insights and questions throughout the session.

PLDT Enterprise's participation in the workshop reflects the company's much broader commitment to supporting Filipino entrepreneurs. By bringing digital skills training directly to communities, the PLDT Group aims to help MSMEs build the confidence and capability to compete in an increasingly online marketplace.

"Filipino SMEs have the drive and the creativity. What they need is the right upskilling to take their businesses online and reach more customers. Being part of this workshop with the City of Muntinlupa and DTI gives us the chance to contribute to that directly, and that is exactly the kind of partnership PLDT Enterprise values," said John Eric Alviz, VP and Head of SME Growth Marketing, Digital and Trade at PLDT.

Through #KonektedforLivelihoods, PLDT and Smart continue helping Filipino entrepreneurs and communities build digital skills that support business growth and open new opportunities online. This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), reinforcing the company's commitment to inclusive digital economic participation for all Filipinos. [END]
