Advisory: PLDT, Smart ready for Inday

PLDT Inc. and its wireless arm Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) are prepared for the possible impact of the enhanced southwest monsoon, or habagat, and Tropical Cyclone #IndayPH, which are expected to bring heavy rainfall across parts of the country through Friday, July 10. According to PAGASA, the southwest monsoon is expected to be the primary source of widespread rains and strong winds across the country later in the week, enhanced in part by Inday, which is not expected to make landfall.

"Preparedness is everyone's responsibility. While our teams continue to monitor the situation and keep our network ready, we encourage everyone to stay informed through official advisories and take the necessary precautions to keep themselves and their families safe," said Roby A. Alampay, First Vice President and Head of Public Engagement and Corporate Communications at PLDT and Smart.

As part of its regular network preparedness measures, PLDT and Smart field teams are prepared to coordinate with local government units and disaster response agencies. The PLDT Group also continues to monitor and safeguard network facilities and ensure service continuity in areas expected to experience heavy rainfall and strong winds, including Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon and Visayas under watch this week.

PLDT and Smart encourage the public to take precautionary measures, such as charging and pre-loading devices, securing backup power, staying updated through official PAGASA advisories, and following the guidance of local authorities. Simple preparedness measures can help communities stay safe and connected during severe weather.
