The Philippines’ largest, fully integrated telco provider PLDT is advancing its plans in the deployment and adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) as it signs with leading IoT enabler and developer Packetworx for a strategic venture.

PLDT and wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have activated quick response teams in Sorsogon following the eruption of Mt. Bulusan.

(“Smart”) and Digitel Mobile Philippines, Inc. (“Digitel”), had signed Sale and Purchase Agreements in connection with the sale of 5,907 telecom towers and related passive telecom infrastructure for PHP 77 billion to a subsidiary of EdgePoint and a subsidiary of edotco (the “TowerCos”).
